Macrovision Solutions Corporation, a digital entertainment technology leader, announced its intention to formally change its name to Rovi. The Rovi brand is part of the company's new brand identity that includes a new corporate visual design. Macrovision will continue to operate under the Macrovision name until the annual meeting of stockholders being held on July 15, 2009, at which time the name change will be considered for approval. If the stockholders approve the change of the company name, the company's trading symbol on the NASDAQ Global Select Market would also be changed at that time.
Macrovision has transformed the company to be a leader in enabling the rapid adoption of digital entertainment. They have accomplished this by a series of strategic acquisitions, divestitures and continued innovation of our product portfolio, and as a result, the company is dramatically different then it was just a year ago.
As Rovi, they will unite their technology and people under one shared identity that speaks to who they have become and how they will drive our strategy moving forward as a technology leader that powers the discovery and enjoyment of digital entertainment.
