Insights into Pure Networks

Read all about Pure Networks...

What is your company's/division's newest initiative?
On June 3rd we launched a new product to help consumers identify and resolve issues that may be slowing down their wireless, network or Internet connection. It's a product called Speed Meter Pro.

While specifically developed for consumers, we believe Speed Meter Pro will be a valuable tool for service providers as well. It will help service providers more efficiently troubleshoot their customers' issues concerning network and Internet performance by providing real time and trend data on things like traffic flow across the network and how network resources are being used.

What is your company's biggest challenge?
We see a lot of head nodding and hear acknowledgements that support costs will go through the roof as the home network becomes more and more complex. However, the focus is still on adding new services not on how to support those services. If providers don't start putting the appropriate solutions in place today they'll inevitably run into problems -- even turnkey solutions take time to implement.

What are your company's long term goals?
Pure Network's long term goal is to become THE resource for all networking-related issues, both for the industry as well as consumers.

We want technology to simply work in a connected world. Our technology addresses a comprehensive set of issues including installing and provisioning equipment, enabling a set of connected devices to operate together, and providing support to the consumer even if the broadband connection is down. We provide solutions for the whole ecosystem - the broadband provider, the hardware manufacturer, the consumer and the small business owner.

What is your company's most successful product/service?
That's a tough one. On the consumer side it would have to be Pure Networks' flagship product, Network Magic. This award-winning software helps millions of people set up and manage their home network and is the only home networking solution people can buy to help them share files
and printers across platforms (Vista, XP and Mac OS X). On the OEM side our network device setup platform is responsible for more device setups than every other competitor combined. However, the success of that product may be eclipsed by our Application Platform SDK.

What do you perceive as your company's greatest strength?
We are razor-focused on making things easier for the consumer, whether that's by making things work for them automatically, providing them with easy-to-use tools or equipping manufacturers and broadband providers to service them more effectively. And because we sell our products directly to consumers, we get their feedback on an ongoing basis, which helps us continue to innovate.

Pure Networks' Martin DeBono, Vice President of Sales and Business Development, will be speaking at CONNECTIONS(TM) on the June 25th at 1:30 PM.

Other confirmed speakers for the Customer Support panel include: Timo Auer, VP, TV, Content & Digital Home, TeliaSonera Group; Gil Eyal, CEO, Enure Networks; Fred King, VP, Sales and Marketing, PlumChoice; Anthony Rodio, EVP, Worldwide Operations, support.com; and Singu Srinivas, President, HiWired.
